On October 26th, Lake County grades 3 – 12 began composting food scraps at lunch.  Kitchen staff at the Intermediate School and High School are also composting.  How do they do it?  They bring the scraps to two big earth Tubs located behind the Intermediate School, where they add wood chips, and turn, until the mix turns to compost, a valuable fertilizer for soil.  We’ve only just begun and so far so good!  A huge thank you to custodial, kitchen and maintenance staff for making it all happen.  And to our Intermediate School green team and high School Ecology Club.  And teachers and admin!  Ok, all of you!
