Congratulations to our Styrofoam Stoppers. Not only have they helped to rid the School District of Styrofoam, they were awarded the President’s Environmental Youth Award, the only one given out for our region, and visited White House on August 16th.
Check out the EPA’s national blog about this award.
Compost has begun! 750 Lake County students, grades 3-12, are now composting daily at lunch time. Two Earth Tubs located at the Intermediate School are accepting food scraps. Thank you to School District staff, teachers, leadership and students for margin this program a success. We are composting over 100 pounds a day.
