Zero Waste Volunteers needed on June 29th

We need your help to make to make the Leadville Race Series races Zero Waste this year.  Last year we kept more than three quarters of all trash out of the landfill through recycling, composting and outreach efforts.  That’s over 120 tons of trash diverted, many natural resources saved and much energy reduced!  Help educate racers and guests on how to divert waste.  Hang out at an aid station or at the start/finish and cheer racers on while providing a valuable service.

We need volunteers on the 29th, but there are many other races as well, in July and August.  Come be a Zero Waste Hero!

In exchange for your time and effort each volunteer will receive a super cool Zero Waste Hero t-shirt, snacks and a mid-day pizza lunch, a free meal and beverage at the end of the race, and preferential spot in the race lottery of your choice.

Recycling containers to be relocated

The blue roll-off recycling containers that used to be across from Safeway are gone!  Green Wolf Recycling is searching for another suitable location – due to a change in plans by property owners.  We expect the FREE drop site containers to be accessible to the public again next week – likely near the Hospital.

Our mission is to inspire stewardship of our natural resources by creating educational opportunities and lasting community infrastructure in Leadville and Lake County, Colorado.
