¡Hablamos de Reciclaje!
While residents’ interest in recycling is high, Lake County faces ongoing issues with trash and other items being placed in the wrong bins. Because of this, the county even had to temporarily close some recycling bins last spring and summer.
Cloud City Conservation Center (C4), in partnership with Lake County Public Works Department, is using grant funding to research knowledge of recycling and conduct a communications campaign this spring.

Volunteer at a C4 Zero Waste Event
Leadville Race Series volunteers are the key to making these events environmentally sustainable. Since 2012 at Leadville Race Series Events, we have kept more than 80% of all trash out of the landfill through recycling, composting and outreach efforts. That’s over 30,000 pounds of waste diverted every year, 70,000 pounds of carbon reduced from our earth’s atmosphere and many natural resources saved! Help educate participants on how to recycle and compost. You will be placed at an aid station or at the start/finish to cheer racers on while providing a valuable service.
