Thank You Lynne Westerfield
It is with great appreciation and some sadness that we say goodbye to our founding director Lynne Westerfield. She has been a driving visionary, an inspiration to many, and a powerful fundraiser for our cause. Thank you Lynne for all that you have created for our community. Change can be hard but it also brings new opportunities. Lynne is moving to her new home outside of Flagstaff AZ to live a ranch life and guide on the Grand Canyon. We wish her all the best!
Kendra Kurihara has stepped into her shoes as the new Executive Director. She has been involved with C4 since the beginning as a board member and zero waste volunteer. Active in the community for many years, her areas of interest have been in education, recreation, gardening and cooking. Check out her bio. Besides learning the ropes, the first big order of business will be completing fundraising, and planning and construction of the upcoming Cloud City Farm project!
Kendra can be contacted at: email@example.com or 719-465-6164. She will buy coffee for anyone wanting to discuss C4 projects, present and future.
Join us from 5-7pm on April 22nd for the annual Party for the Planet, a celebration of Leadville and Lake County’s efforts to be inspiring stewards of our environment. The Award Ceremony and Party will take place at Harperrose Studios, 601 Harrison Ave. The party will include live music (Groovespeak) and food. It is free for members, $5 for non-members; don’t worry, you can become a member at the door.
Don’t forget to shop for us! (But only for things you need, that are made well and will add value to your life.) The following businesses have pledged 15-20% of their Friday proceeds to the local environmental programs, so get out and support these local businesses on Earth Day: Cookies with Altitude, City On a Hill, Melanzana, Harperrose Studios, High Mountain Pies, Community Threads, Cycles of Life, and Leadville Outdoors.
