The compost, recycling and trash have been weighed from all the Leadville Race Series events this summer, including both 100 mile races, and the overall waste diversion rate is 75%. Over 8000 pounds of compost and recyclables were kept out of the landfill. Over 19,000 pounds of carbon emissions were reduced from our earth’s atmosphere. Thousands of individuals participated and 50 locals volunteered to make it happen. These are awesome results.
That’s 1500 pounds of compost and 1000 pounds of recycling. Thousands of racers, watchers, crew and visitors took part in the effort. Yes, you can be part of it. Volunteer with us for the 100 mountain bike and run. Make recycling and compost happen! To sign up, click here.
